Rethinking AI Memory Architecture

One of the core challenges in building trust-first AI companions is memory. How do we create AI systems that remember meaningful interactions without compromising user privacy?

The Problem

Traditional AI systems rely on cloud-based storage and training. Your conversations become data points in massive models. This approach fundamentally conflicts with the trust-first philosophy.

Our Approach

We're exploring local-first memory architectures where the AI's understanding of you lives on your device. The cloud handles computation, but your personal context stays with you.

This creates interesting technical challenges around synchronization, backup, and model personalization—all without ever exposing raw personal data to external systems.

What's Next

More experimentation. More prototyping. We'll share more as we learn, but always with an eye toward what we can reveal without compromising the core IP.
